Hey neighbors, friends, & family,
I wanted to let you know that, after years of crippling Rheumatoid
Arthritis, I will be having total knee replacement surgery! This is
scheduled to take place on Monday, July 14th at 10 a.m. PDT.
I am excited that it's finally happening, & that this will be the
first step, literally, in getting my mobility & my life back. But at
the same time I'm also terrified. It's basically fear of the unknown.
Like, will the pain of recovery be worse than the pain I've had to
live with more & more each year? Will they be able to get the new
knee in there ok? There is some concern on the part of the surgeon
that it's going to be more complicated due to the way my knees have
contracted (pulled in, bent. I'm unable to straighten either of my
legs). But if the surgery & subsequent recovery is successful, then
I'll have the other knee done. And I'll be able to walk again!!!
One of my concerns is how my son Josh deals with my recovery. The
first couple of days I'm home the tentative plan is for Josh to be
here. Given our tenuous relationship these days this COULD be very
difficult for both of us & I may use home-health aides instead.
In the end, I may have a limp, or have to use a cane, but being able
to shop, go to church, visit the zoo without a walker or wheelchair is
an exhilarating prospect!! :-D
The purpose of this post is to ask you for your prayers (or the
equivalent depending on your belief system). I truly believe that
prayer is powerful. And I will need to lean on our combined strength
in order to recover fully, & have a full life again!
This week will be busy with several doctors, lab, & xray appointments,
culminating with my pre-op appointment at the hospital this Friday
morning (the 11th). I'm not sure how much time I'll have for Voxing
this week. But I thank each & every one of you for your friendship &
support, not only now but always. I cherish all of you & am so
grateful for your kindness.
I'll keep you posted as things progress!! Thanks again!
Now that getting that Computer Science degree is behind me, time to get back to another love of mine...music. been awhile since i sequenced anything, and I have forgotten almost everything I ever knew about Ableton Live, Reason and VST's, but I managed to put this together. Will only get better with time I promise. Straight out of Ableton with no real mastering done, but you will get the idea. Cheryl Lynn's Got to Be Real cover.
Saw this earlier today, thought I'd share it with ya'll cause it's really funny.
